Washington - The three working groups of the
Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) Advisory Council on
Employee Welfare and Pension Benefit Plans will convene by teleconference
October 19-20 to discuss reports and recommendations to be submitted to
the Secretary of Labor. The teleconference will be conducted from the U.S.
Department of Labor, 200 Constitution Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C., Room
N3437A, for those who wish to attend.
The Working Group on Improving Plan Communications for
Health and Welfare Plan Participants will meet on October 19 from 2 p.m.
to 4 p.m. On October 20, the meetings will run from Noon to 4 p.m., with
the Working Group on Communications to Retirement Plan Participants
meeting first, followed by the Working Group on Retirement Plan
Distributions and Options.
The public is welcome to attend all meetings and may
submit comments by October 12 to Larry Good, the council’s executive
secretary. Questions about the meetings or requests to address the ERISA

The Advisory Council consists of 15 members, appointed
to staggered three-year terms by the Secretary of Labor to provide advice
on policies and regulations affecting employee benefit plans sponsored by
private-sector employers. The members represent the general public,
employers, employee organizations and the fields of insurance, corporate
trust, investment management, investment counseling, accounting and
actuarial counseling. |
