Washington, DC - The U.S. Department of
Labor’s Pension and Welfare Benefits Administration today extended for
two weeks the period for receipt of comments for a number of class and
individual exemptions currently under consideration. |

The department’s action was taken because no written
comments were delivered during the period of October 22 and November 26
when the Department of Labor mailroom was closed as a precautionary
measure during the recent anthrax scare. |

The affected exemptions are listed in the department’s
Federal Register notice today, including a proposed amendment to an
existing class exemption allowing plans to receive interest free loans and
extensions of credit from related parties. |
