Brendan M.: Inspiring Small Business Owners in Indiana
Brendan M. is self-employed in the vending machine business, thanks to the collaborative efforts of his family, the Indiana Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, his high school’s transitional services program and the Indianapolis Private Industry Council Inc.’s Customized Employment Project funded by ODEP. He was provided an employment consultant who, with advice from the Small Business Administration, coordinated the development of his business plan. Brendan had long been interested in the vending machine enterprise through previous experience at the Indiana School for the Blind. He now serves the vending machine needs of eight buildings and is looking to add locations.
